There's nothing like a good Classics win to raise bike-building spirits, and major American newspaper USA Today has linked Simoni's win in the Giro d'Italia with increased confidence at post-chapter 11 Cannondale.

Parents who ferry their kids to school by car and drivers who clog up the roads in rush hour could be hit with London-style congestion charges. The British government - so far in thrall to the roads lobby - could bite the bullet and introduce satellite tracking devices to monitor vehicle usage. If so, bike usage would increase. That's the good news. The bad news is it will take ten years to implement and many bloody battles with motorists (ie voters).
