'Human Electro Synergy Components' group announced, as well as OEM business

SR Suntour reveals e-bike groupset intentions

SR Suntour has announced that it has plans for the electric bike components market with the creation of what it calls a ‘Human Electro Synergy Components’ groupset.

Having secured some OEM business with Winora, among others, the groupset was first seen at last week’s Munich Bike Expo, on both the Suntour and Winora stands.

Bike Europe
reports that the electric groupset will offer a suspension fork and hub motor combination that brings a few bits of unique technology to the market. The fork is designed with thick dropouts, which have been tailored to absorb the loads of a rotating motor.

Suntour adds: "The special stopper design of the motor, in combination with the extra thick dropouts of the fork, create a more efficient power transmission and a higher interface strength. The fork has a 63 millimetres travel, 120 millimetres pitch O.L.D. and a coil spring with preload adjust."

A detachable LCD display is to feature with the system and crucially, this sytem can work as theft protection thanks to the use of a power cut off sensor kit.

Power is delivered via a vertical Li-ion 8.0 Ah battery pack, chargeable in just two and a half hours and said to be good for over 500 charge cycles.

Finer details on the groupset can be found here.
