Folding bike firm moves to Zyro

Zyro snaps up Dahon

Yorkshire-based distributor Zyro has signed a deal to exclusively distribute Dahon bicycles and accessories in the UK.

Zyro will take on distribution of the folding bike giant from January 1st, 2010. From that date the firm will also take over warranty service for Dahon’s bicycles – including those sold before 2010.

Dahon vice president Joshua Hon said: “We’re incredibly pleased to be partnering with Zyro for distribution in the UK. Zyro has a great team, a stable of complementary brands, and above all, an unerring focus on service.

"Service to our dealers is an area where we’ve needed to improve and we expect to make some big progress in this area beginning in 2010. Our dealers deserve a big ‘thank you’ from us for their support and patience.”

Zyro director of product and purchasing Simon Ellison enthused: “We are excited to have the opportunity to work with Dahon, which is recognised as a leader and innovator in the folding bike market.

“Dahon complements our existing product range, while also adding a new dimension to Zyro’s range of products. We recognise that retailers need a different level of support for a folding bike range, and are gearing up for this challenge with enthusiasm. We feel that Zyro will be able to help the brand grow by using our skills in brand management, after sales service, not to mention our process control and inventory management.”

Last week Fisher Outdoor Leisure announced it would be parting company with Dahon as revealed on BikeBiz. Fisher will continue to distribute the firms product until the end of the year.
