Cycle Addicts is looking for a skilled, hands-on experienced Bicycle mechanic to join our busy workshop in Rochdale. We aren’t just a shop; we’re a hub for the local cycling community, and our workshop is the heart of it all. We deal with everything from high-end carbon road bikes and muddy MTBs to the latest e-bike technology.
You’ll be our go-to expert for keeping the riders of Rochdale rolling. This isn’t just about the basics—we need a seasoned pro who is comfortable with high-spec builds and complex technical diagnostics on all types of bikes. Full Servicing & Repairs: From basic safety checks to complete strip-downs and rebuilds. Technical Diagnostics: Expertly handling hydraulic brake bleeds, suspension tuning, and electronic shifting (Di2/eTap) setups. E-Bikes : Troubleshooting and updating Bosch, Shimano, and Avinox systems. Quality Control: Ensuring every bike that leaves the stand meets our high standards for safety and performance. Customer Interaction: Chatting with customers about their pride and joy, offering honest advice, and explaining technical repairs without the jargon.
We are looking for someone to take over the running of our busy workshop in St Albans. Our current senior mechanic is moving to a community backed project and we wish him well. However, this creates an opportunity for someone to come in and turn this workshop into their very own well-oiled machine. The workshop operates with a senior mechanic and a store team who build bikes and undertake smaller jobs.
Ideally you will be able to say yes to the following. 2 years’ experience working on bikes priced from £500 to £5000+, a commercial outlook, a friendly personality. Prove you can deliver excellent customer service. Good time management and work to a schedule. Enjoy working in a team! Have Cytech level 2 or equivalent (or have the relevant industry experience).

We are looking for a Specialist Retail Assistant to join our team with excellent communication skills and a demonstratable interest in road and gravel cycling. The role will require you to gain in-depth knowledge of the premium cycle brands we stock and the skills necessary to support customers in their purchase journey. You will be a quick learner and be provided with in-house technical training on bicycle geometry, bicycle sizing/fitting and the setup of the latest componentry in road and gravel cycling. These skills will allow you to support our customers in their purchase and provide excellent customer service. The right candidate will have the freedom to shape and develop the position around their strengths, interests, and experience with an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities. Although prior cycle industry experience and qualifications may be beneficial, this is not essential with the right candidate showing interest, enthusiasm and a pro-active attitude towards developing in the role.
Key responsibilities for this role include providing expert advice and exceptional customer service to cyclists, Communicate clearly and enthusiastically across all channels (in-person, phone, email, and digital). Support customers with product recommendations, bike sizing, and technical queries. Use computer systems confidently for customer records, orders, and inventory. Merchandising of the store including assembly of new bicycles.
