Shimano has introduced the SH-RX710, a new gravel shoe designed to bring race-focused technology from its S-PHYRE RX910 model to a wider range of riders.
The RX710 is aimed at riders looking for a balance of efficient power transfer, secure fit and off-bike walkability across gravel racing, training and adventure riding.
At the centre of the shoe is a lightweight carbon-reinforced midsole with a stiffness rating of nine out of 12, intended to provide an efficient pedalling platform while retaining comfort for longer rides.
Shimano said the shoe has been developed for the changing demands of gravel riding, where riders may switch between competition, mixed-terrain training and more remote exploration.
The RX710 also features Shimano’s Pontoon Cleat System, designed to improve stability at the pedal interface while offering confident walkability when riders are off the bike.
A synthetic leather upper has been used to balance breathability, durability and comfort, while dual BOA L6Z dials provide micro-adjustable closure and on-the-fly fit tuning.
The shoe uses Shimano DYNALAST 2.0 and will be offered in navy, black and sand white. Claimed weight is 315g in size 43.
Sizes run from 38 to 50 in standard fit, with half sizes from 39.5 to 46.5. Wide sizes will be available from 38 to 48, also with half sizes from 39.5 to 46.5, while narrow sizes will run from 36 to 44.
The Shimano RX710 has an MSRP of €254.95 / £269.99.
