Pivot Cycles to co-sponsor new women’s pro cyclocross team

Pivot Cycles is partnering with DNA Cycling to co-sponsor a women’s professional cyclocross team.

Pivot Cycles is turning its attention to the formation of a new professional women’s cyclocross squad. In partnership with bike clothing manufacturer DNA Cycling, the new Pivot Cycles pb DNA Cycling Team consists of Courtenay McFadden and Sofia Gomez-Villafañe.

McFadden has five years of UCI competition under her belt and three break out UCI wins last season. When asked about the new squad, she commented: “I’m extremely excited to tackle the new season with Sofia as a part of the program! This will be my first year with a teammate in the races and that changes the dynamics of racing in a really positive way. I’m also looking forward to cheering for Sofia and contributing to the success of her first full UCI calendar, through sharing what I’ve learned over the past few years.”

Gomez-Villafañe, a newcomer to the sport, added: “Last year was my first year as an Elite UCI CX racer, I had some great races and got to visit the podium a few times. For the upcoming season, I’m looking forward to building on that success and learning more about the tactical aspects of the sport through Courtenay’s experience.”

The Pivot Cycles pb DNA Cycling Team will race the Pivot Vault, a competition-ready cyclocross bike that doubles as an all-season gravel and racing bike.
