Canadian-based mountain bike website Pinkbike has acquired CyclingTips.
Acquired from BikeExchange, CyclingTips is known for delivering content that is primarily focused on road cycling and professional racing.
The acquisition will continue to expand and diversify the cycling portfolio that Pinkbike founder Radek Burkat established in 1998. Pinkbike and CyclingTips also share “high-quality, in-depth, and respected content that aligns for future growth”.
Burkat said: “We are excited to commit the talents and resources we have at Pinkbike and Trailforks to allow the CyclingTips team to grow and be the leader in road cycling.”
The acquisition of CyclingTips closed on 8th March, and the current staff, including founder and general manager Wade Wallace, will remain a part of the team.
Wallace added: “We are thrilled that CyclingTips has come together with the Pinkbike family. We are confident that this partnership will result in a better product for our readers, members and industry partners.”
Pinkbike has over three million unique visitors every month and over 1.5 million registered users. Founded in 2008, CyclingTips is an Australian-based website with offices now in the USA, and seeks to “share the beauty of cycling and to inspire cyclists of all levels to become better and more knowledgeable riders”. It is focused mainly on road cycling, from the professional cycling scene through to challenging local recreational rides.
