Peter Kimberley, managing director for Cycle Republic and Tredz Bikes at Halfords Group, will leave the business in the new year to pursue a new opportunity.
Kimberley was promoted to MD of Cycle Republic in 2015 and became MD of Tredz Bikes earlier this year. He joined Halfords in 2014, having previously been head of retail for Evans Cycles.
Karen Bellairs, group customer and commercial director at Halfords, said: “Peter leaves having achieved a huge amount at Halfords Group, taking our important specialist cycling businesses from strength to strength, with his commitment to offering fantastic and exclusive brands and services to our customers.
“I want to thank Peter for everything he has achieved and for his contribution to our business, and we all wish him the very best of luck. Peter leaves us in a strong position for future growth and we look forward to building on the success he and his team have achieved.”
Kimberley oversaw the opening of the first Cycle Republic store in December 2014, and 2015 saw the retailer open shops in Norwich, Manchester, Bristol, and Nottingham alongside new shops in the capital. A brand-new transactional website was launched in 2016.
Kimberley added: “I am really proud of what we have achieved as a team across Cycle Republic and Tredz, and the brands. I know I will be leaving these brilliant businesses in strong hands. I’ll continue to support the team over the next three months and look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
A replacement will be announced in due course.
