Pennine Sports launches EZEGO e-bike range

West Yorkshire-based Pennine Sports has launched its first range of British designed and Taiwanese manufactured electric bikes this month.

The EZEGO e-bike brand has been designed with commuters and leisure cyclists in mind, and tested in and around West Yorkshire terrain.

David Pratt, marketing director for Pennine Sports, said: “The EZEGO bike brand has been positioned within the UK market at a highly competitive price point, without sacrificing on style and quality.

“All our components are carefully sourced, before being assembled at our Taiwanese production facility under the watchful eye of industry veteran and e-bike expert James Walsh.”

Walsh said: “The decision to produce our e-bikes in Taiwan was easy, the Taiwanese reputation for manufacturing high quality bikes is known across the cycle industry. We felt this was essential to the success of the brand, and to ensure compliance with all relevant EU regulations/standards.”

Pratt added: “Although the new range is available to purchase online, we truly value the role independent cycle retailers will play in building this exciting new brand, and we look forward to working with our growing retailer network to that end.”

The 2019 EZEGO range introduces four models ranging from £999 to £1,099, including the folding electric bike, Fold, the low step through Step NX, and two commuter models, Commute EX.
