Or, more accurately, pro-bicycle students from Cologne, Zurich and Milan collaborated to dream up a number of bicycle products of the future. These include sports shades with integral digital camera (useful for snapping road rage motorists); a gyroscopically-stabilised unicycle; a means of fixing punctures and regulating tyre pressures on the fly; and the ultimate in bum comfort, a saddle supported not with a seatpost but an electromagnetic field.

Four trade bands to duke it out at Interbike

Industry musicians will compete for bragging rights at the inaugural Battle-of-the-Bands on Wednesday, October 6th, in the Venetian Ballroom, Las Vegas. The Shimano-sponsored bash - with free beer and food - will have a sound stage provided by Fender, of electric guitar fame, and the four bands will be made up of employees of Bell Sports/Giro, DeFeet, Ochsner International and Nirve.
