Online- & onshoring-focused World Cycling Forum set for June

An industry-led World Cycling Forum will be staged in Portugal this June. The two-day conference is organised by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry in partnership with Bike Europe. The theme is “consumer centricity and increasing speed to market abilities of the bicycle and e-bike industry.”

According to the WFSGI – which liases between the bike industry and the UCI on tech matters – online sales continues to grow rapidly for all sorts of products, including bicycles and e-bikes. “Consumer centricity is the prerequisite for new business models triggering a switch to omni-channel distribution strategies,” says a statement.

The inaugural World Cycling Forum – to be staged in Porto, Portugal on 7th and 8th June – will have expert speakers analysing the impact of online on bike retail. The conference will also examine whether “reshoring” – or domestric manufacturing of bikes – is truly viable.

The forum fee is €850 for WFGSI members and €1,250 for non-members.
