No shortage of new bicycle businesses launching and, in the case of Clifton's BikeUK, expanding...

New bike shops for Stockport and Battersea, London

Everyone Bikes has opened in London, BikeHaus has set up in Stockport and Bike UK has expanded…

Battersea, London has seen the launch of Everyone Bikes on Northcote Road, aimed primarily at women of all cycling abilities, founded and owned by Alex Coleman.

The retailer said: "We provide a friendly and reassuring environment where you can find the very best in women’s bikes and accessories, plus quality servicing and expert advice. Plus men and children haven’t been forgotten – we have hand-picked our favourite bikes and accessories for them as well! We also repair bikes, and offer maintenance classes for everyone.

"We hand-pick every supplier and only work with brands that we truly believe in. We stock a mix of independent and well-known cycle brands but we aren’t a bike shop full of different brands, instead we only have names that we truly love and know are right for women’s cycling."

Meanwhile, Dame Sarah Storey was enlisted to open BikeHaus, on Stonepail Road in Gatley last week (reports the MEN).

The shop is owned by fellow Paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth with business partner Andrew Hilton. Butterworth told the Manchester Evening News that he wants the outlet to be a friendly shop, offering bike repairs and sales, sports massage and sofas for screenings of cycling events. twitter.com/weareBikeHaus

Finally, Clifton’s BikeUK has been substantially refitted and expanded. Based on Queens Avenue, the shop has a new Shimano Service Centre.

Recent growth has seen Bike UK expand into its neighbouring shop, with both the retail and service areas grown.

The refit includes launching the South West of England’s only new style of approved Shimano Service Centre, and just the fourth in the UK. Plus, the brand expansion includes Giro’s New Road clothing, with Bike UK being only one of six UK retailers chosen to stock these.

The cycle range has expanded too with brands such as Wilier, Whyte, Focus, Orange, Ridgeback, Marin and Orbea.

“Our dedication to customer service remains unchanged," said owner Lyle Finlay. "We now have space to give customers the high quality experience they deserve.

“With huge industry names like Shimano and Giro choosing to partner with us, it really endorses the quality of customer offering our staff provide.”

Bike UK is located on Queens Avenue, Clifton, Bristol (BS8 1SB) and is open from 9am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday. www.bike-uk.co.uk
