Moustache J awarded the Gold iF Design Award

French e-bike specialist Moustache has seen its J scope yet another award, this time receiving the Gold iF Design Award.

Among nearly 11,000 entries across all sectors this year, from 72 countries, only the 75 most outstanding design achievements were honoured with the iF Gold Award. Furthermore, Moustache stands out as the sole bicycle brand to achieve this distinction in 2024.

The jury shared the following statement regarding its decision to issue J the Gold award: “This e-bike is not only an engineering gem but also helps reduce the over-reliance of the industry on global supply chains. This is a return to workshop manufacturing to create a compact, inviting, safe, and adaptable e-bike that can be customized to each user’s needs. Vive la liberté, vive la France!”

Producing bikes in France reduces the travel distance of Moustache frames from over 9,300 miles to less than 620 miles – a significant step, and a point of great satisfaction for the brand.

Designed and built to move people

The J, equipped with the Bosch Performance Line motor (75 Nm), features an open frame that is easy to step over, combined with a dropper seat post, enabling riders to put their feet on the ground with a simple press of the thumb.

Another nod to usability is the rear suspension which comes with an adaptive lever for different loads and terrains. Here, its Moustache Magic Grip Control hydro-pneumatic rear shock which is at work smoothing out all obstacles.

Moustache also offers a version of the J equipped with the Enviolo continuously variable transmission, and belt drive, providing smooth gear changes with a simple twist of the handle, and minimal drivetrain maintenance – all wins for people looking to a bike as a form of reliable transport.

Three J options

The J is available in three configurations: J. on / J. all / J. off – each tailored for specific user needs, along with a range of accessories to ensure each bike is fully optimized to meet the needs of its rider.

Award winning acclaim

This latest award follows the J receiving the 2023 Eurobike Gold Award, the German Design Award, and the Design and Innovation Award.
