Moustache J Off wins 2024 Design and Innovation Award

Moustache, the French e-bike brand, has won a Design and Innovation Award (DI.A) for its J Off e-bike.

In sharing the news, a spokesperson for the brand said: “The impartiality and seriousness with which the tests are conducted, as well as the profiles of the jury members, make the DI.A one of the most prestigious awards in the cycling world. Needless to say, we’re super proud.”

A history of award-winning innovation

Following three previous DI.A titles with the Samedi 27 Race 9 in 2017, Trail 10 in 2020, and Game 10 in 2021, Moustache is once again proving its ability to innovate, make e-biking more accessible.

Through design and innovation, the brand continues to push the boundaries of e-MTB development, a statement backed by winning another Design and Innovation Award with the J Off.

The DI.A jury said: “With the J Off, French manufacturer Moustache introduced a groundbreaking step-through off-road e-bike that stands for local, innovative manufacturing.“

“The frame is just as ingenious as it is simple and consists of two parts: The eponymous J-shaped main frame, and a swingarm. This allows the French brand to cast the aluminium frame rather than welding together different tubes, a process that is carried out entirely in France. Despite its simple design, the J Off doesn’t give up comfort, with Moustache’s proprietary single pivot rear suspension ensuring a smooth ride.

“Using Moustache’s online configurator, you can customise the spec of your J Off to suit your needs and requirements, choosing from different options for the drivetrain, battery capacity, range extender and pannier rack. Ebiking can be so simple and yet so clever – Vive la France!”

About the award

The Design and Innovation Award sees itself as both a seal of approval, and the benchmark achievement for the bike industry’s highest performing products – much more than just a title-giver, or a round of applause for brands.

A DI.A award is one that decisively tests products in the real world, assessing them in their entirety, reaching considered verdicts.

This year once again saw select international journalists, professional test riders, and industry experts invest more than 6,000 hours of their time to partake in the DI.A process.
