Bike shop customers have been gaining trade entry for years but will now gain official access. Details to be revealed next week.

Interbike to open doors (officially) to consumers for the first time

Details are scant at the moment, but major US bicycle trade show Interbike has revealed that it will be opening its doors to consumers for the first time in 2013.

Next year also marks a break with another tradition – it will be held at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay rather than the Sands Expo base of many years.

Interbike is set to reveal more on its plans early next week – after 5.30 GMT.

In the meantime, Interbike’s short statement reads: "Interbike, the largest bicycle industry trade show in North America, plans to announce the details behind a new initiative to allow bicycle enthusiasts access to the long time B2B only trade show. Access for bicycle enthusiasts will be granted through a new retailer invitation program – details of which to be explained via conference call on Monday."
