Rupert Guinness has joined cyclingnews.com as a contributor. He has covered cycling for 25 years and joins the team in the Sydney, Australia.

He has previously worked for Winning Magazine, Velonews, Eurosport and The Sydney Morning Herald. He has also authored many books including "The Tour – Behind the scenes of Cadel Evans’ Tour de France."

Based in Sydney, Australia, Guinness first covered the Tour de France in 1987 and has been a regular ever since. Easy to spot in his Hawaiian shirts, Guinness’s work in cycling, rugby and sailing has been commended with accolades including a Walkley Award commendation in 2001 and the Australian Cycling journalist of the year prize in 1998 and 2013.
