Daniel Benson to manage www.cyclingnews.com

Cyclingnews hires new managing editor

Future Publishing has appointed Daniel Benson to manage www.cyclingnews.com.

Previously managing editor at the website for Runners World, Benson has covered a diverse range of races, including the Tour De France. He has also previously reported for the Daily Telegraph’s website as a sports reporter.

“Editing the world’s leading cycling Web site was too good an opportunity to miss, bringing together my passion for cycling and my background in Web journalism,” Benson said. “I’m looking forward to working with this incredibly experienced team, building on the success of the site, developing its excellent reputation in the industry and working with a loyal, growing audience.”

Cyclingnews.com was only recently acquired by future in July 2007, yet the rapidly growing website has been running since 1995. Benson will report to group publisher, Riohard Schofield, who said of the appointment: " The knowledge and experience Daniel brings will be a great boost to the team of dedicated enthusiasts who run the Cyclingnews reporting operation around the globe. His role in coordinating and developing Cyclingnews and working with BikeRadar are crucial to further develop our sector-leading site.”
