Zwift launches new Apple TV app

Zwift has launched a new version of its mobile app specifically focused at the latest generation of tvOS.

The update now means that Zwift is available on the new 4th and 5th/4K Generation Apple TVs. Users can now access and engage with Zwift’s gaming graphics, gameplay, and integrated exercise data intuitively via the app.

The launch follows the company’s investment into Apple’s app ecosystem earlier this year with iPhone and iPad. Following strong user adoption of the iOS platform, Zwift developed an app for tvOS, enabling Zwifters to stream the game through their home television.

“We watch TV every day,” commented CEO of Zwift Eric Min. “We see participation in Zwift as part of that daily integration, with users easily connecting their fitness devices and streaming the game on the big screen. The affordability and convenience of Apple TV makes our fitness app truly accessible to the masses and helps us realize our original vision for what Zwift can do for our users.”

The Apple TV 4K has their fastest yet Apple-designed processors which deliver enhanced performance, allowing Zwift users to achieve an even richer experience. Instant, native Bluetooth pairing lets users connect to smart trainers, power meters, heart rate monitors, and other exercise sensors.

Zwift is offered as non-contract, monthly subscription priced at £14.49 per month. Zwift is currently available on the App Store along with Zwift’s companion app, the “Zwift Mobile Link,” which can be used in tandem with Zwift as a game controller, data display, event feed, and social integration tool.
