Experian figures place e-tailer fourth overall in fitness industry

Wiggle named ‘most visited’ cycling website by Hitwise

Online bike retailer Wiggle.co.uk has again been crowned Britain’s top cycle website – a title it has enjoyed every year since 2006.

Figures released by Experian Hitwise UK show Wiggle as the country’s most visited cycling website during the first half of 2010. Not only did Wiggle win the cycle industry award, it was also ranked fourth overall in the sport and fitness retail industry sector.

Martin Talbot, Wiggle’s director of marketing, said: “Wiggle has a great reputation among cyclists, triathletes and sports enthusiasts as the UK’s leading online bikes retailer, so winning this award once again confirms this. We are delighted to win; it provides the customer with the reassurance they are shopping with a true market leader and is testament to all the hard work which goes on behind the scenes at Wiggle.”

Earlier this year, Wiggle won its sixth consecutive Best Mail Order Company award from 220 Triathlon Magazine. This followed consumer magazine Which? naming Wiggle as the UK’s Top Sports and Leisure Site.

The online store received 3.4 million visits during July, a 62 per cent rise year-on-year.
