Wheel label follows trend by online retail giant to launch own brand products

Wiggle launches own-brand wheels under Cosine banner

Wiggle has revealed another addition to its house-product stable, with the announcement it will produce wheelsets under the Cosine banner.

Joining its clothing label DHB and a recent move into cycle insurance, Cosine is a response to customer insight, explains Jodie Shann at Wiggle.

"‘Each wheel set is assembled to the highest standards using the finest components, materials and techniques.

“In response to customer insight we are delighted to be launching our Cosine range of products, initially focusing on wheels and saddles, with a broader range to come in 2016.

“We have developed these Cosine products with leading manufacturers and they offer exceptional value on key products, for example the Cosine lightweight, aero profile Clincher 32mm road wheelset for only £250.”

The six wheel line will top out at £600, the price at which three carbon clinchers will feature. Bang on trend, each will carry a wide rim section with 23.4mm outer and 19mm inside.

Paired with the Cosine announcement, LifeLine, another in Wiggle’s own-brand stable, has revealed it will produce a new line of tyres. These begin with a 235 gram 60TPI folding tyres, available in 23 and 25mm and retailing for just £8.

At £14, a 120TPI tyre drops the weight to 219 grams in 23mm. A commuter tyre in 26 and 700c also sells for £14 and interestingly, you pay no more for an armoured tyre.
