Braking, the Italian aftermarket performance brake parts manufacturer for the sports motorbike world, has launched into the bicycle market. Braking patented the non-circular 'wave' disc idea in 1998.

‘Wave disc’ innovator produces MTB versions

In the UK, Braking’s wave discs will be available from Talon Engineering Ltd of Yeovil.

Talon is a motorbike CNC specialist, manufacturing motorbike sprockets, wheels, and clutch baskets, with 35 full-time staff and a 20 000 sq ft factory.

Wave discs – now much copied – are said to improve braking performance, especially in the wet, don’t fade like normal discs and don’t warp.

Braking’s universal-fitting wave discs come in 160mm, 203mm and 185mm versions and sell to the trade at £15.00 each plus vat. All versions
