VAARU announces new sales and marketing manager

Custom-made titanium road and mountain bike producer VAARU Cycles has announced the addition of a new sales and marketing manager to the team.

John Cookson will now take sole charge of these efforts in the UK and Europe. He comes to the job with over eight years of experience working with Exposure Lights in a marketing management position.

VAARU owner and designer James Beresford said: "Sales are constantly increasing and a new member of the team is essential to continued growth. Having worked with John at Exposure Lights for over eight years, I know how well we work together and we have high hopes for the future.

“Having John onboard means the IBDs looking at stocking Vaaru can get the level of service they would expect from a quality brand. It leaves me to concentrate on the design and development and other sections of running the business.

“It’s a huge step up to have someone with John’s experience solely dedicated to Vaaru dealers and helping to push the marketing. It’s exciting times ahead. We need dealers who share the same passion for quality and customer service that we do. I am also very aware IBDs are always looking for something to separate them from the competition and using their customer insights we have the skills and flexibility to deliver a unique package to the IBD’s.

“2017 is a big year for us; we move premises in the next couple of months to add more facilities under one roof with the capacity to add more staff as and when needed. "

Cookson added: “It’s an exciting time for Vaaru Cycles; there’s a huge opportunity in developing a focused dealer network building on the hard work and success of the last few years. Having supported James at shows over the last year and being a proud owner of two Vaaru bikes I was itching to be involved more. Customer enthusiasm is impossible to ignore and I’m looking forward to having a chance to assist in the next phase of the business.”
