Madrid-headquartered helmet brand Unit 1 has introduced a range of options designed to help riders during cold, wet winter weather.
With 3 distinct components, the Unit 1 offering brings together hardware to tackle the cold, wind, and rain.
The brand describes its winter-focused solution as a “modular climate control system that lets your ride warm when it’s cold, and open when it’s not.” This 3-part approach focuses on keeping ears warm, eyes protected, and heads dry in rainy conditions.
Winter Liner
First up is the Winter Liner – a shaped, insulated liner available in S / M / L sizes – for riders with the brands Faro or Aura smart helmet. The Winter Liner replaces internal pads and, as a result, doesn’t impact fit.
Magnetic Helmet Visor
Part 2 in this 3-part winter riding solution is the Magnetic Helmet Visor – available in 3 versions: Clear, Tinted and Adaptive – and designed specifically for the brand’s Aura helmet.
The Magnetic Helmet Visor has been designed for wind, water, debris and UV protection. Magnetically attached to the brim via 5 strong magnets, the Magnetic Helmet Visor stays securely in place during rides but detaches upon impact to prevent facial injuries. When not in use, the Visor can be flipped and mounted on top of the rider’s helmet.
Rain Plugs
The Rain Plug is a silicone insert that fits into Neon’s top vents, forming a seal that effectively prevents water from getting in and also reduces ventilation in cold weather.
Rain plugs are available in two colour options – Tangerine and White.
