UCI creates powwow

The Union Cycliste International, based in Aigle, Switzerland, has announced it is to introduce a week-long UCI World Cycling Forum from next year.

The event will "allow for the creation of an ideal platform for everyone involved in the cycling world and will offer the unique opportunity to meet with the UCI and all its partners," said a statement for the world governing body of cycling.

The UCI said the event would be open to industry representatives, sponsors, public authorities and media. The event will also include the meetings of the different UCI Commissions, finishing with the annual UCI Congress.

The UCI has also created an Equipment Commission, composed of Jean Wauthier, Alex Roussel, Professor Jan-Anders Månson, Randall Shafer and Marco Genovese.
