Trek Bicycles UK has completed its move into its new BREEAM certified site in Milton Keynes.
The purpose-built facility incorporates both the warehouses and offices in one structure, a move designed to improve service to the Trek UK dealer base – and also to help reduce environmental impact and maintain sustainable office practices.
BREEAM is a certification rating evaluating buildings for their environmental impact and sustainability. It covers energy and water use, internal environment, pollution, transport, ecology and management processes.
“Cycling is constantly evolving. It’s not simply something to do for exercise anymore. It’s a viable form of transportation, and as a result the industry is growing,” said Trek UK’s general manager Nigel Roberts.
“Our new facility will allow us to keep pace with this growth by providing both a better environment for our employees, and space to bring our customers in for training. The combination will enhance the level of service we are able to provide to our dealer base.”
The new warehouse has a 35,000-plus bike capacity with room for the growing P&A inventory. Trek’s UK marketing, sales, retail services, Ascend and tech services will operate in the new offices. Trek’s European forecasting and purchasing groups will also be based at the site, as well as Euro retail services.
