Free event taking place within Bontrager Twentyfour12 in Devon; 'Helping women become more confident riders is a major objective of Trek'

Trek Ladies’ Night becomes Ladies’ Day

Based on the sucess of Trek’s Ladies’ Nights around the UK this year, Trek will host a bumper ‘Ladies’ Day event at the Bontrager Twentyfour12 MTB festival.

Running July 27th to 28th at Newnham Park in Devon, Ladies’ Day will take place at 2pm on Saturday 27th in the Bontrager main tent. The free event has been designed to provide insight into making riding more enjoyable for women. There is no pre-registration for the event, just simply turn up and get involved.

Delivered by Trek’s Chris Garrison, Ladies’ Day will provide the chance to learn why differences in male and female anatomical structure mean women feel different types of pain while riding, and what can be done to correct those issues. The event will also give insight into choosing the right saddle and how the three variables in the saddle comfort equation can help you find ‘saddle nirvana’. There will also be a quick and dirty explanation about how to fix a flat tyre and other mechanical skills every MTB rider should know.

Bontrager Twentyfour12 organiser Martyn Salt said: “’We’re always looking for ways to encourage more women to participate in the Bontrager Twentyfour12 and by running a fun informative event like the Ladies’ Day we hope more women will look at the event and say ‘that is the race for me’. The Ladies’ Day will be a great addition to Saturday afternoon’s entertainment and it will be open to both competitors and spectators. It will bring even more of a buzz to the centrepiece of the event – the Bontrager yurt.”

Chris Garrison added: "Helping women become more confident riders is a major objective of Trek. One of the best ways to do that is to provide information, advice, and address common issues that women all over the world share. This is what Ladies’ Day is all about. We’re excited to add this to the activities at Twentyfour12, and look forward to an entertaining exchange with riders and spectators alike."
