The CTC now has an improved travel insurance package for cyclists. Here’s the press release:
CTC is improving its unique Cyclecover travel insurance policies which
have been designed specifically to suit those going on a cycling
holiday.
There are now three tiers of protection for road and offroad cycling
giving cyclists the chance to choose the level of cover they need.
Many annual and single trip policies do not include cycle repatriation
or cover for luggage and bike accessories. CTC’s Cyclecover protection
includes both and, unlike other insurers, classifies cycle touring as a
normal, rather than dangerous, activity!
CTC Cyclecover is the only cycling specific travel insurance policy. The
number of policy holders has risen by 30 per cent in 12 months because
it suits cyclists so well.
Insurance now offers three levels of insurance – Elite, Standard and
Economy – introduced in response to feedback from members. Cyclists said
they wanted to choose their level of medical cover with many preferring
a lower level for holidays close to home.
Budget packages cost as little as £11 for a week in the UK, and £55 or
£90 for a solo rider or family taking annual insurance for trips to
Europe yet still include £2m medical and cancellation insurance,
repatriation and accident cover.
Elite cover offers £10m in medical protection, full cover for luggage
and bike accessories, up to £400 in catastrophe cover – if damage means
you have to move hotel – homecare such as a burst pipe and even
insurance for the pet you’ve left behind.
