CTC and CCN seek submissions for National Cycle Awards

The award scheme organisers are looking for innovations which could be implemented in other parts of the UK.

Schools, transport operators, businesses, community organisations and local authorities can all enter. The best initiatives will be publicised nationwide. The most important

criterion will be that the venture has increased the level of cycling within its area.

Richard Thomas, CTC transport campaigner said: "It is vital that we recognise those who have worked hard to increase cycling levels and used cycling as a means of benefiting their communities."

John Franklin, chair of CCN said: "Past winners have shown what can be achieved given the right approach and a commitment to high standards. We look forward to recognising more projects of good quality in 2003."

The closing date for nominations is January 13 2003. Any scheme which has been running for at least three months will be considered and submissions should include before and after feedback.
