This aero helmet is a GameChanger says ABUS

At tomorrow’s Paris–Roubaix race Team Movistar will wear GameChanger aero helmets from ABUS. The company says the helmet offers optimal aerodynamics regardless of a rider’s head angle while riding.

The frontal drag area has been reduced by 23 percent compared to the German company’s existing high-end helmet. A statement from ABUS adds that the air ports at the front cool the head by “simultaneous pressure and suction of the incoming and outgoing air. The tempering effect of this technology, also known as Forced Air Cooling Technology, is based on the Venturi nozzles known from aviation.

The GameChanger in medium weighs 260 grams.

The helmet’s straps – ABUS calls them FlowStraps – are  “flutter-free … skin-friendly straps with a specially developed profile that does not need any adjustment system around the ear, to the AirPort – a bracket for glasses with temple channels that is aerodynamically positioned at the helmet’s rear.

ABUS’ Christian Rothe said: “We had the vision to develop a helmet that changes the game. The ABUS GameChanger redefines aerodynamics and it makes no compromises when it comes to cooling or safety. When the race comes down to the last seconds, squeezing out the last watts, then there is nothing more advantageous for ambitious cyclists than the ABUS GameChanger.”

The helmet will be available in S, M, and L, and eight colour combinations in retail stores, and will be available from June.
