We’re looking for a passionate bike expert to join our online cycling business on a part-time / freelance basis, working approximately 2–3 hours per day. This is not a traditional customer service role. We’re looking for someone who genuinely understands bikes, components, compatibility and current product trends across a wide range of brands.
You’ll provide expert assistance with both after-sales technical support and pre-sales advice. We operate a 1st and 2nd line support model, so you will only receive enquiries that require genuine cycling expertise. You won’t be spending your time answering basic questions such as “Where is my order?” — those are handled by our first-line support team.
The most important thing is deep cycling knowledge and a genuine passion for bikes. You don’t necessarily need previous customer service experience. We’re happy to consider someone from a mechanic, shop, racing, enthusiast or other cycling background who has excellent product knowledge and a friendly, flexible attitude. You should be comfortable communicating with customers, explaining technical concepts clearly and admitting when you need to investigate something rather than guessing.
Whether it be for the weekday commute or weekend pursuits, our customers have very different preferences. What they all have in common is a genuine excitement when they’re presented with their cycling products & you are looked upon not just as a representative of The Electric Bike Shop, but a cycling know-it-all.
Your role as Cycle Technician is vital to maintaining our reputation for quality products and service that customers can rely on and trust. As Technician we want you to share our passion for cycling and help every customer to have everything they need to ‘enjoy the ride’. You’ll be comfortable both fixing bicycles and talking to customers. The ideal person loves getting hands-on and is extremely process-driven – you must be able to complete repairs to an exceptional standard in a set amount of time.
