Stock Allocator – Wheelbase Lakeland Limited

Wheelbase is the UK’s largest cycle store and we have been at the forefront of the industry for the last 25 years. We live and breathe bikes and have built up a successful business from our headquarters in the Lake District National Park. We have a number of successful retail stores across the UK and our eCommerce division delivers expertly built and packed bicycles nationwide.

Our Stock Allocator role is an exciting and varied job with great opportunity to join a dynamic and changing environment as we move forward with our new processes in buying and merchandising. You will be analysing trading data, trends and departmental performance and you’ll play a key role in making sure we have the right stock in the right place at the right times.

You will be part of the team responsible for omni-channel stock management for a large portfolio of products and play your part in delivering our sales, margin and stock targets. You’ll be comfortable with IT and have good excel skills, with good numerical and analytical skills and a great attention to detail. The role will involve both analytical work within our inventory programme as well as logistical planning for physical stock movements and stock takes.

Full-Time Bike Mechanic – Impressed London

Our team is passionate about cycling and committed to delivering top-notch customer experiences. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced bike mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. As a bike mechanic at Impressed London, you will be responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and assembly of bicycles to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and safety.

You will also: work closely with customers to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and provide expert advice on bike maintenance and upgrades, perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of bicycle makes and models – Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements – Assemble new bicycles according to manufacturer specifications, conduct safety inspections and quality checks on completed repairs, and provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and offering expert advice on bike maintenance and upgrades

Proven experience as a bike mechanic, preferably in a retail or service-oriented environment – Strong knowledge of bicycle components, mechanics, and repair techniques – Proficiency in using bike repair tools and equipment. You will also have: excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, a customer-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and a passion for cycling and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Workshop Mechanic – Dave Mellor Cycles

Dave Mellor Cycles, an established independent cycle retailer in Shrewsbury, Shropshire for over 40 years, is seeking a motivated individual to join their workshop team. The candidate will be responsible for repairing customer bicycles and preparing new boxed bicycles for customers and the shop floor. They will work with top bike brands and products in our well-equipped workshop.

Duties include taking service bookings, managing spares stock, and providing excellent customer service. Applicants should have experience in bicycle mechanics within the cycle industry and possess the necessary skills and attributes. The showroom stocks a wide range of top bike brands, such as Cannondale, Giant, Liv, Specialised, Kinesis, as well as specific E-bike brands including Gazelle, Kalkhoff and Riese and Muller. We are seeking an ideal candidate who is conscientious, hard-working, and dedicated to quality in a workshop environment.

The candidate should have a strong technical and mechanical background in all aspects of cycling. Preference is for qualifications to Cytech level three, but training will be provided if needed. The role involves working efficiently on all bike types, including those with electronic transmissions and hydraulic brakes. Tasks include assembly, inspection, frame preparation, wheel building, and problem-solving. IT proficiency and excellent customer service skills are a must.

Bike Shop Mechanic – The Bristol Bike Project

We are looking for a new mechanic to join our friendly team! The Bristol Bike Project is a member-led co-operative repairing and rehoming bicycles within our community. We aim to help people from all walks of life get out on two wheels and for it to be an inclusive and empowering experience.

The Bristol Bike Project has run a successful bike shop for 15 years, in order to support our extensive range of community programmes. Key activities include undertaking the servicing and repair of bicycles for the general public and refurbishing donated bicycles to for sale.

Skills, qualities and experience required include: a high standard of mechanical skill, with an extensive understanding of all aspects of bicycle maintenance including a good working knowledge of componentry compatibilities. Solid commercial experience (at least 1-2 years) of working as a bike mechanic is essential. Qualifications such as Cytech Level 2 are nice to have, but more important is aptitude and a commitment to producing excellent quality work, as is a willingness and ability to work to an agreed standard, in order to ensure second hand sale bikes are consistently reliable and the shop’s reputation for quality work is maintained.

Cycle Technician & Customer Sales Advisor – Cycle Works Yorkshire

Fancy joining our dynamic and fast-growing team? If you are passionate about cycles, riding and everything in between, then this could be a perfect match! Previous experience working within the cycle industry with excellent communication and customer service skills are essential to this role.

We are currently looking for an experienced, fully competent cycle technician to join our team on a full-time basis. Part-time roles may be considered for suitable candidates. Technician roles are available in both our Huddersfield and Penistone stores. The ideal candidate would be able to work at both stores however we can be flexible for the right person. There is also potential for Customer Sales Advisor only roles.

The main responsibilities for this role include: bike diagnostics, maintenance and repairs, sales of service packages, parts and accessories, having a tip top product knowledge, ensuring our customers are always happy, assembly and pre-delivery inspection of new bikes, working with suspension and hydraulic systems, product demonstrations where necessary, and helping to keep the shop and work areas spick and span.
