Mechanic

Located in the heart of the stunning Swinley Forest, we’re the go-to destination for riders of all levels. Whether it’s helping riders find their dream bike, maintaining top performance for rentals, or sharing expert advice, we aim to create unforgettable experiences on two wheels.

As a Bike Mechanic at Swinley Bike Hub, you’ll maintain and repair a variety of bikes, including rental fleets and customer-owned bikes. Perform safety checks, tune-ups, and adjustments to ensure every rider has a safe and smooth experience. Assist with bike builds, wheel truing, suspension servicing, and diagnostics. Interact with customers, providing friendly advice and technical insights. Help keep the workshop organized and efficient.

We’re looking for someone who holds a Cytech Level 2 qualification (minimum requirement). Has a strong mechanical background, with hands-on experience in bike servicing and repair. Is passionate about cycling and understands the needs of riders. Has excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Communicates effectively and works well in a team. Thrives in a busy, customer-focused environment.

Equipment and Logistics Coordinator

As the Equipment and Logistics Coordinator, you will take a hands-on approach to coordinating and maintaining our outdoor equipment and logistics. This role is integral to ensuring our trips are well-prepared and equipped, delivering a 5-star experience to our guides and clients. You will oversee digital inventory, track maintenance, and optimise processes for seamless trip delivery, working closely with the sales, operations, and guiding teams to support Wilderness England’s seasonal needs.

April to October is ‘summer season’ which involves strict deadlines as the majority of trips depart, along with reacting to any unforeseen issues that may arise. Annual leave is more restricted during this period.

November – Feb is ‘winter season’ which involves preparation and planning for the following year, kit repairs, maintenance, review of processes and budgeting, as well as providing support to the wider office team.

Hours for this role are 35hrs per week although there is an opportunity to increase hours in the summer and reduce them in the winter.  Weekend work is required.

This role requires scheduled weekend work during the summer season as trips are confirmed to run, weekend work will be agreed well in advance according to our trip schedule. This will be to cover key trips that are ‘stores heavy’ and where guides require assistance with prep, packing and return.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, assisting customers with their purchasing decisions. Cycle Technician

Whether it be for the weekday commute or weekend pursuits, our customers have very different preferences. What they all have in common is a genuine excitement when they’re presented with their cycling products & you are looked upon not just as a representative of The Electric Bike Shop, but a cycling know-it-all.

Your role as Cycle Technician is vital to maintaining our reputation for quality products and service that customers can rely on and trust.  As Technician we want you to share our passion for cycling and help every customer to have everything they need to ‘enjoy the ride’.  You’ll be comfortable both fixing bicycles and talking to customers. The ideal person loves getting hands-on and is extremely process-driven – you must be able to complete repairs to an exceptional standard in a set amount of time.

Customer Sales Advisor

Are you mad about bikes? Do you know the difference between a headset and bottom bracket or Di2 and AXS? Then we may have the ideal job for you!

We are seeking for a full-time sales adviser to work five days a week. Ideally you will have a background in retail sales or loves cycling and want a change in career.

Your number one priority is to provide great shopping experience for new and existing customers. We are more than just a retailer, we’re part of the cycling community in the local area, where we know most of our customer by their first name.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication and listening skills and you will have a genuine desire to help others. Show the ability to problem solve whilst building rapport with customers and colleagues.
