Wannabe pro riders will be interested to note that high end UK Pinarello dealer The Bike Rooms has launched Pinarello Performance, promising the same level of service as a pro athlete receives.
The new service offers cyclists at any level an opportunity to experience elite level support, testing and conditioning, the retailer said.
The shop noted: "Cyclists are becoming increasingly savvy when it comes to equipment and products. Traditional endorsements are no longer enough. Cyclists at all levels want to understand what equipment, clothing, nutrition and training professional athletes use and critically, how can it help their own performance."
So what can customers expect in addition to insights, experiences and opportunities to engage with some of the world’s leading coaches, sports scientists, nutritionists, physiotherapists and riders? This:
- Professional Bike Fit
- Power efficiency and testing
- Physiological testing
- Coaching support
- Talks and seminars
- Track days
Hosted at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, Sport Scientists will assess:
- Body Composition – Height, Weight, Body Fat %
- Submaximal Aerobic Profile – To examine Lactate and Heart Rate responses to Power production
- Maximal Aerobic Profile – To examine Absolute and Relative VO2max, as well as relative and absolute Peak Power Output
In addition to a report containing the results, guests will have a one-to-one session with an elite level coach to contextualise the numbers and help them to develop a high level training plan and goals for 2016.
Pinarello CEO Fausto Pinarello said: “Pinarello Performance offers an opportunity for people to understand what makes them the cyclist that they are and how they could improve. Anyone can offer advice and training programmes, but we are all different physiologically. What works for one doesn’t necessarily work for us all. This new offering provides access to pro level expertise and services normally reserved for elite level athletes.”
