Tern has announced a new distribution partnership with Cycle Sport New Zealand, who become Tern’s exclusive distributor for New Zealand, assuming responsibility for sales, dealer support, warranty, service, and spare parts for Tern products from PRV New Zealand.
“Cycle Sport is excited to be named the New Zealand distributor of Tern Bicycles, a brand celebrated for its innovation and its no-compromise approach to quality and design,” stated Sam Fletcher, Director of Cycle Sport. “We can’t wait to grow Tern’s presence across New Zealand and give Kiwi riders access to the finest cargo bikes available anywhere. We’re also looking forward to working closely with current Tern dealers to make this transition smooth and easy.”
Cycle Sport brings decades of experience distributing premium bicycle brands in New Zealand. Supporting a network of more than 150 retailers across New Zealand has given Cycle Sport a deep understanding of what dealers need to succeed, from dependable product supply to responsive warranty, technical, and after-sales support. The partnership will also enable Tern to offer a broader range of bicycles and accessories to dealers and customers across New Zealand.
Recognizing PRV
Tern says this transition marks the end of its long-standing partnership with PRV. Josh Hon and the entire Tern team would like to personally thank the PRV team for their many years of friendship and partnership, including their role in growing Tern’s dealer network and bringing Tern bicycles to riders across New Zealand. Tern wishes the entire PRV team continued success in the future.
Among PRV’s most significant achievements was its work with New Zealand Post on one of the world’s first large-scale deployments of electric cargo bikes for mail delivery. This ongoing program continues to expand, with hundreds of Tern cargo bikes now in service as New Zealand Post transitions to a low-emission delivery fleet. Today, more than 70% of New Zealand Post’s owned vehicle fleet has been electrified.
