The Nottingham and Birmingham maker of hub gears and Brooks saddles has been bought by the London-based company, Lenark

Sturmey Archer changes hands

The sale price is believed to be £3m. This is for the assets and goodwill only and does not include property because, like Raleigh, Sturmey Archer have to be out of their Triumph Road premises after the site was sold to the local university for a student housing development.

The Nottingham half of the company will be relocating but the Birmingham half which makes Brooks saddles – stays put.

More details will be posted here when we get them.
