SRAM has announced the launch of its new Eagle Transmission 1987 collection, limited to under 2000 groupsets worldwide.

SRAM was founded in 1987 with a single product – the Grip Shift shifter. This shifter was born from a desire to deliver a better ride experience by breaking conventional design and expand the potential of cycling by inspiring all riders.

When we started chasing the dream of a better ride, we could never have predicted what we’d be riding some 38 years later. But the realization of Eagle Transmission remains true to day one. And while we’re never satisfied, we’re taking a moment to celebrate with the 1987 Collection. The limited edition groupset features a unique combination of T-Type Ecosystem components of which we’re most proud, all in an exclusive silver finish. This is the 1987 Collection. The dream delivered.

SRAM says the 1987 Eagle Transmission Collection celebrates its relentless pursuit of the perfect ride since 1987. With a unique silver finish, this collection features a small SRAM logo and the number “1987” stylised in the handwriting of Stan Day, SRAM’s founder.

Eagle Transmission 1987 Collection

Produced in a limited run of just 1,987 groupsets worldwide—each one individually numbered, and with a finish you won’t find anywhere else, this is a celebration of where we started and everything we’re proud of right now. So whether you’re upgrading or assembling a once-in-a-lifetime build, this is a chance to experience Eagle Transmission in the most unique way. And when they’re gone, they’re gone.
