SRAM has brought a TT and Triathlon welcome update to its braking tech with the arrival of its Aero Disk Brake, available in Red, Force and Rival.
The launch news also comes with a SRAM Red crank update, which sees the brand offering its range-topping crank in 150mm through 175mm lengths, whilst also dropping 29 grams in weight on the previous iteration.
A more logical launch pairing than might be immediately obvious
Whilst aero brakes and cranksets might not, on the face of it, seem an obvious pairing to co-launch, you won’t have to go far to find IM triathletes running short cranks to support both an aero bike position and a successful bike/run transition (hip angle being a big point of focus here). And then there’s the WT trend toward short cranks. So very much a product launch in keeping with the events of the past 12 or 18 months.

No carbon brake lever or Bleeding Edge tech for the entry-level Rival, then.
