Cobi's PR company creates Life by Bike.

Smartphone handlebar-gizmo company launches online urban-cycling mag

Cobi has commissioned its American PR company to produce an online urban-cycling magazine. Cobi is a German multi-tasking handlebar bundle that combines a front and rear light with a smartphone mount with integrated charger, a bell, and an alarm. The new magazine – or website, really – is Life by Bike, and is said to be a "source of inspiration for people interested in urban riding." The website will be updated monthly by Verde Brand Communications.

Articles on the site will range from profiles of thought-leaders – such as bike maker Paul Budnitz – to city guides to the "innovations that are making biking more accessible to people across the globe" (one of these might be a handlebar gizmo perhaps?)

“I am delighted to see this magazine debut," said Andreas Freitag, CMO of Cobi. "Cobi represents more than just a gadget on a handlebar – it is a way of life for us,”

He added: “This magazine is designed to inspire, connect and build a global community around urban cycling.”

With Life by Bike COBI becomes more than a cycling product, it becomes experiential.

Craig Randall, integrated services director at Verde Brand Communications, said: “We spoke with people who are moving the needle in areas like advertising, design, environmental awareness, and healthful living. Bicycling is critical to their lives. Readers can expect to learn from innovative people and places and see how bicycling is a fixture in everyday life.”

Designed and engineered in Germany, Cobi was Kickstarter funded in 2014.
