Shortlist revealed for Taipei Cycle d&i awards

Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Taiwan Bicycle Association have announced the shortlist for the 2016 Taipei Cycle d&i awards. Awards will be given at the 2016 Taipei Cycle Pre-Show Press Conference on March 1st, and winning entries will first showcase at Velocity’s design exhibition February 27 to March 1st, and later be on display at the 2016 Taipei Cycle Show March 2nd through 5th. All award-winning products will also be exhibited at Interbike, Las Vegas from September 21st to 23rd.

According to TAITA, the number of international entries grew 29 percent comparing with 2015.

On the shortlist are some wacky bikes, as is usual with this award scheme, but also plenty of products from mainstream brands, such as Tern and Birdy.

The jury panel comprised Adriana Monk of Monk Design, Ken O’Rourke of KOR-Design, Henry Chang of Gearlab, Francois Liang of Cycling and Health Tech. Industry R&D Center, Taiwan, Kevin Mayne of the European Cyclists’ Federation, Cheng-non Hsu of Rikulau International , and Markus Storck of Storck Bicycle.
