"We are setting aside six 3m x 3m pitches for bike shops to sell end of line stock. Just like our classified trade ads no 'new' lines will be allowed. So if you have been wondering how to get shut of all those 2004 lines that have been gathering dust then this could be the way," said Singletrack's Mark Alker.

Singletrack’s car boot sale will allow trade stands

Based on the popular VeloSwap events in the US that attract thousands of bargain hunters, Singletrack Recycled will be staged at the Stafford Showground on Sunday 23rd October.

Doors will open at 8am for sellers with a VIP preview hour starting at 9am. "The public will flock in at 10am," said Alker.

"The preview hour will allow ticket holding members of the public the chance to browse the halls to see what is on offer although no selling will be allowed to take place until 10am."

Members of the public can rent a 1m x 2m trestle table for £15 to lay out their spares and wares. Traditional car boot rules apply and only second hand or unwanted items will be allowed, said Alker.

Trade sellers get more space – 3m x3m – and will be backed up against the loading bay doors of the hall allowing reloads from vans parked outside.

The cost of a trade stand is £100
