Tim Johnson of Sideways Cycles was the winner of 'Best bike shop' in the Singletrack reader awards. The charity auction after the awards dinner, attended by 66 riders, journos, IBD owners and assorted industry types, raised £2745 for Cancer Research.

"We will most likely do the awards again next year," said Singletrack’s Mark Alker.

"We’ll give people a little more notice next time though and of course we will be tightening up the qualifying criteria for a bike shop!"


Dafydd Davies of Coed y Brenin being presented with spiky gong for best UK trail. MC for the evening was Gaviscon-empowered Brant Richards.

Mike Davis of Bikemagic accepted the award for best ad, even though it was originated before securing the editor’s job at the online mag.

Singletrack exhibition and awards co-sponsor Willem Vlok of Basta was the successful bidder for the half page ad in BicycleBusiness.
