First look at this weekend's Core Bike trade show in Northampton

Silverfish adds lightweight tubes brand Eclipse

Silverfish has signed a distribution deal with the Eclipse label – manufacturers of the ‘world’s lightest inner tubes’.

The Swiss label is now to appear at the Core Bike trade show, beginning this weekend at Whittlebury Hall in Northampton. Taking a product which has remained unchanged for decades, Eclipse claims theirs is not only much lighter than the current offerings but also, incredibly, gives improved puncture resistance too. The only catch is that they’re not recommended to be run on any bike with carbon rim brakes as the heat from braking can effect the tube.

Silverfish’s marketing manager Pete Drew told BikeBiz: "By installing a pair of Eclipse inner tubes you could save up to a further 1.5Ibs on your DH sled, 1/2Ib off your enduro or XC bike and even knock 1/3Ib off your road bike weight. Best of all is that this can all be achieved without having to get messy with tyre sealant or needing an airline to seat your rubber."

Eclipse does however offer tubeless sealant too for any customers preferring to go down that route.

Stock arrives in the UK later this month.
