Components giant Shimano has unveiled a Dura-Ace 11-speed cassette group for 2013.
What’s new? Quite a bit: As well as providing a range of gearing options for all situations, the new 11-speed drive train sports more compact lever hoods for improved comfort and control and a new asymmetric four-arm crankset for optimising power delivery. The new Dura-Ace provides lighter shifting and braking action thanks to shorter lever throw and new polymer-coated cables and a new PTFE coated chain.
Installation has been simplified through e-tube single-wire connections on the Dura-Ace Di2, while a more compact battery for Dura-Ace Di2 comes with internal mounting options. Shimano added that it has also improved shifting feedback and multiple shifts on Dura-Ace Di2.
There’s a new range of wheels including deep-section aero rims. Redesigned symmetrical dual-pivot brakes provide better power and control, while the same bolt circle diameter for compact and traditional double chainsets means that one crankarm fits all chainring sizes.
The complete group is lighter than before too. The total weight of the mechanical Dura-Ace is 1978 grams and the total weight of Dura-Ace Di2 is 1957 (both excluding wiring).

Dura-Ace Di2’s electronic shifting puts effortless and precise shifts just a button push away, regardless of weather conditions. The new Dura-Ace Hollowtech II chainset with unique asymmetric spider design guarantees maximum power delivery."
Dura-Ace 9000 is scheduled to appear in the market in September 2012, while the ï€ Dura-Ace Di2 9070 will be available November 2012.
