Shimano has launched a new hybrid pedal built for “backroads and beyond” – called the PD-EH510. According to the brand, it blends the efficiency of Shimano’s popular SPD clip-in system with the confidence and freedom of flat pedal riding. The pedals are designed for riders who value adaptability across changing terrain and riding styles, with PD-EH510 built to perform whether commuting, exploring gravel roads, or venturing off pavement for the first time.
With an SPD binding on one side and a stable flat platform on the other, the PD-EH510 allows riders to seamlessly choose how they engage with the pedal based on terrain, footwear, or riding preference. The wide 111 mm x 96 mm platform offers pedaling stability and confidence, while eight pins per side provide added grip and control when riding unclipped.

The PD-EH510 also features a durable resin pedal body with a textured finish that apparently helps protect against rock strikes and abrasions in real-world riding conditions. A thinner pedal profile improves ground clearance for technical terrain, tight corners, and off-road obstacles, while the robust brushing bearing construction delivers long-lasting, low-maintenance performance, according to Shimano.
Built for riders who want, “one pedal that does it all”, the PD-EH510 offers reliability and performance in a versatile package, ideal for committed commuters, gravel explorers, new off-road riders, and e-bike users alike.
The UK SRP of the PD-EH510 is £79.99.
