Selle Italia has expanded its SLR saddle range with the launch of the new SLR XC, a performance-focused mountain bike saddle aimed at cross-country and marathon use.
Unveiled at the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole, the new model has been developed for riders looking for speed, precision and control on technical off-road terrain.
The SLR XC introduces a broader platform than Selle Italia’s previous SLR off-road model, including carbon rail versions for riders prioritising stiffness, low weight and power transfer. The range will be offered in Carbon, Elite and Advan versions, with carbon and steel rail options.
The line-up also includes a closed-body configuration in S1 and L1 sizes for the Carbon and Advan models, complementing the existing Superflow versions and giving riders a wider choice based on fit and preference.
Metal rail models feature Selle Italia’s Shock Absorber technology, designed to reduce vibrations and micro-impacts during off-road riding.
The saddle uses ample padding to support longer rides, while a tapered rear profile is intended to help riders return quickly to the saddle after technical sections. A lowered and slightly wider nose is designed to improve movement and traction on steep climbs, with the saddle length increased to 250mm for additional forward support.
Durability has also been addressed through reinforced side edges to protect against impacts and abrasion, while the rear shell has been shaped for compatibility with modern full-suspension mountain bikes when the seatpost is dropped.
The SLR XC 3D Carbon launches alongside the standard SLR XC, bringing Selle Italia’s 3D-printed saddle technology into its off-road range. The model uses an in-house-developed lattice structure, manufactured in Italy using Carbon DLS technology, to provide targeted impact and vibration absorption.
The 3D version also features reinforced printed side edges, designed to improve resistance to impacts and wear while maintaining a smooth surface for rider movement.
The new SLR XC range will be available from October through selleitalia.com and selected bicycle retailers.
