Philip McAleese, CEO of See.Sense, will be giving a talk about his company’s innovative, connected bike lights at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Other speakers include Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg and Mark Fields, CEO of the Ford Motor Company.
See.Sense ICON, which is designed and manufacturered in Northern Ireland, provides "technology to pave the way for the smarter cities," said McAleese
The light is fitted with sensor and communication technology allowing it to adjust flash pattern and speed to the cyclists’ changing environment. The lights can be controlled by a smartphone app, and features such as crash and theft detection alerts can be toggled on or off.
The sensors are also able to collect real-time urban ride data, such as road surface analysis and – coming soon, said McAleese – air pollution. The data could used to predict future crash hot-spot areas based on ‘near-miss’ data.
See.Sense is also featured in the ‘Innovation City’ section at Mobile World Congress, which is staged 22nd – 25th February.
