Canny bike shops seize on the idea to install tube vending machines outside their premises

Schwalbe: ‘We’ve been inundated with tube vending machine requests’

Since we ran a news story on how JE James Cycles had installed inner tube dispensers outside two of their shops, other bike retailers across the land have been ‘inundating’ Schwalbe to get their hands on their own, the brand told BikeBiz.

The tube vending machines from Schwalbe are thoroughly refurbished cigarette machines that hold 60 tubes in six different sizes. They can be free-standing or wall-mounted and are 102 x 92 x 30 cm.

Schwalbe filled us in on the details: "The cost to Independent Bicycle Dealers is basically free. Dealers pay £690 plus VAT and delivery for the machine but receive 100 free Schwalbe tubes of their choice worth a retail value of ca. £690 so the machine effectively pays for itself.

"Flexible payment terms are available and the Schwalbe Tube Vending Machines are serviced every two years free of charge by Hansen.

"Free tubes are in boxes of 25 pcs."
