Global engineering and manufacturing specialist Saint-Gobain is getting behind the Elite Criterium at the IG London Nocturne, taking place on Saturday (June 9th).
The Saint-Gobain Elite Criterium is set to be the race programme highlight, providing a visual spectacle as the pro riders hit high speeds around the floodlit Smithfield Market circuit in the City of London.
Ten pro teams will feature, with riders from Team Sky and Orica-GreenEdge lining up alongside the leading British squads. The likes of Matt Goss and Brett Lancaster (Orica-GreenEdge) are on the start sheet, as are riders from Rapha Condor Sharp, IG-Sigma Sport, Endura Racing, Raleigh-GAC among others.
"The involvement of Saint-Gobain is an exciting development and will help us to continue to attract the best British and international cyclists to the City of London," enthused IG London Nocturne organiser James Pope. "Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics is a global leader in engineered components and its focus on performance and innovation aligns perfectly with the IG London Nocturne and the high performance Elite Criterium."
Saint-Gobain global marketing manager Paul Humphreys added: "The IG London Nocturne is an excellent showcase for bike racing at its best and provides a fantastic opportunity to associate Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics with some of the world’s leading professional cyclists.
"Cycling is an important part of our business and our Norglide composite bearing has been developed with performance in mind, and these performance values will be reflected by the riders themselves in the Saint-Gobain Elite Criterium."
The IG London Nocturne is free to attend and full details of all the races, including the Saint-Gobain Elite Criterium can be found on www.londonnocturne.com.
The 2012 event will be televised on Channel 4 at 07:00 on Saturday June 16th, after which it’ll be available to view online on 4OD.
Last month Tern was revealed as the sponsor of Nocturne’s Folding Bike Race.
