Saddleback to bring Ceramic Speed to UK bike retailers

Saddleback has become CeramicSpeed’s exclusive UK distributor, bringing its hub bearing, bottom bracket and pulley wheel range to UK cycle retailers.

CeramicSpeed, founded by MD Jacob Csizmadia in 2000, brought ceramic bearing to pro cycling in 2001. The CeramicSpeed hybrid bearings reduce friction, improve power transfer and increase bearing longevity. Compared with steel balls, the ceramic versions are rounder, harder, smoother, stiffer, lighter and more durable, saving energy, the firm said.

CeramicSpeed director Martin Banke said: “We are pleased to be partnering with Saddleback. We have been impressed with the great representation and support Saddleback give to the brands they distribute.”

Saddleback director Andy Wigmore added: “We are delighted to be partnering CeramicSpeed for 2011 onwards. The full CeramicSpeed range of hub bearing, bottom bracket and pulley wheel products will be available from Saddleback in early April.”
