Ridley details all-disc cyclocross line-up

Belgium’s Ridley is filling in the details on its new All-Disc Cyclocross bike line-up, which the trade will be able to see up close at Eurobike next week.

The X-Night range is expanded this year with the X-Night SL while at the more affordable end of the price range, the Ridley X-Ride is an aluminium cross bike built for racing and leisure riding. Rounding off the line-up is the X-Bow range, with Shimano components.

X-Night SL
This year, Ridley is furthering the distinction between the X-Night and X-Night SL models. The latter will retain the high level carbon grade of the cyclocross bikes, while the X-Night models will use the second-tier carbon grade. The X-Night SL is between 150g and 170g lighter than the X-Night.

Ridley pointed out that the X-Night models aren’t simply replacing the old X-Fire counterparts – while the carbon layup will be different between the X-Night and X-Night SL, the moulds used for both will be the same. The starting price point X-Night 60 Disc is £1,899.99, with a 105 mix and mechanical TRP disc brakes. The X-Night SL 20 (pictured below) has a RRP of £3,999.99.

X-Ride
The Ridley X-Ride is an aluminium cross bike built for racing and leisure riding. Featuring internal cable routing it is compatible with mechanical shifting and features a tapered head tube to increase front end stiffness and steering precision. It starts from £1,149 for the X-ride 40 with Tiagra and goes up to £1,849 for the X-ride 10 with Ultegra 11spd. In general, the X-Ride is a more affordable option for those seeking a fun and reliable ride, the firm said.

X-Bow
The X-Bow’s modest alloy frame has a conventional straight head tube and comes with a carbon-legged fork. Groupset components are Shimano Tiagra and TRP mechanical disc brakes. Chunky 4ZA CXD wheels roll on Shimano’s cup and cone hubs. The X-Bow 10 Disc (pictured below) comes with a 105mix at £1,199 and the X-Bow 20 Disc comes with Tiagra at £1,049.
